With a laser-focus on excellence and a deep commitment to his students, Professor Emeritus Jerome M. Seidman, Ph.D. (1911-1986) helped build the Montclair State Psychology Department from nothing to the largest academic program at the University. Each year, the Jerome M. and Cindy Seidman Award recognizes the academic achievement of two exceptional graduating students and encourages them to pursue future accomplishments in their field.

After a highly successful career as a philanthropic specialist, Susan Head ’75 MA decided to turn her attention to what she is most passionate about: the arts and social justice. As a member of the College of the Arts Advisory Board and now as a new member of the Montclair State University Foundation Board, Head will focus on both, and on educating the community about the challenges faced by Montclair State students.

Nel Noddings ’49 is widely known for bringing the ethics of caring philosophy into education theory. At Montclair State, she is also known for her generosity in supporting the next generation of qualified, dedicated educators.

Robert Iacullo ’76 has had a long and distinguished history as a utilities executive and Montclair State volunteer, including more than six years as a member of the University’s Foundation board.

Anthony M. Carlino, Esq. ’77 experienced the challenges of being the first in a family to attend college. He now champions the University’s mission to provide world-class higher education for a highly diverse, largely first-generation student population.

As a business leader, Judith Schumacher-Tilton is involved in the community and committed to supporting Montclair State.

Seeing the heart, soul and talent of Montclair State, Jerry Appelstein shares his passion for the University’s mission.

As chair of the Montclair State University Foundation, alumnus Greg Collins believes in supporting the University that shaped his life.

Rose’s loyalty and love for the University is a legacy, as she and her late husband, John, endowed their gift for music student scholarships.
