MONDAY

  • Coming Out Group
    4pm, SC 415
    A weekly open discussion and support group for students in various stages of the coming out process.

     
  • Hate Effect Open Forum
    5pm, SC Ballrooms
    Join the Chair of the Bias Response Task Force, the Coordinator of the LGBTQ Center, University Police, the Director of the Recreation Center, and members of our campus administration at this open forum to discuss the recent bias incident on campus. 

     
  • Men’s Group 
    5:30pm, SC 415
    A weekly discussion group for gay, bisexual, queer, and transgender-identified men and their allies. This group is a great way to meet other queer men of MSU and hang out in a relaxing, safe space. New topics are discussed each week. 

     
  • The Hate Effect
    8pm, SC 411 at the SPECTRUMS Meeting
    At this general meeting of Montclair State University's LGBTQ student organization, the topic will be The Hate Effect: Hate is Not an MSU Value. Attendees will learn how they can create change on campus and be provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to incidents. This session is hosted by Peer Educators of the LGBTQ Center in collaboration with SPECTRUMS. 

TUESDAY

  • Ace Art Project
    1:30pm-3:30pm, Rathskeller

    Participants can paint any sort of image or message with the provided paint colors, as well as contribute to a larger canvas which will be part of an installation in the coming year. The paintings will be done with black, white, and purple paint colors which represent the Asexual flag. This painting will be displayed in the Student Center.
  • The Hate Effect: Hate is Not an MSU Value
    2:30pm in Dinallo MPR
    Come learn about The Hate Effect. Attendees will learn how they can create change on campus and be provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to incidents. This session is hosted by Peer Educators of the LGBTQ Center. 

  • Q-mmunity: A weekly queer and questioning discussion and support group.
    4pm in SC 110 Conference Room
    This laid-back discussion group focuses on identity, current events, and life in general. All are invited to attend, whether you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or questioning... or fall anywhere on the queer spectrum.

     
  • Open Mic Night
    8:30pm, SC 417

    Open Mic night allows participants to express themselves and their emotions through singing, music, and poetry. This serves as a safe space to allow people to release some of their thoughts and emotions with others. 

WEDNESDAY

    Students of varying romantic orientations along the (a)sexual continuum will convene to speak personally about their experiences. Join us as they share with us their journeys of self-identification, coming out, and other experiences.

     
  • Womyn's Group
    5:30pm, SC 110
    A weekly discussion group for lesbian, bisexual, queer, and transgender-identified womyn and their allies. Come hang out in a relaxing, safe space with other queer womyn of MSU. New topics are discussed each week. 

     
  • Ace Jeopardy
    9:15pm, check HawkSync for location
    An twist on the classic TV show, these rounds of jeopardy will be based around all types of knowledge surrounding the asexual community. There will be prizes for the top five participants!

THURSDAY

  • Transcending Boundaries
    1pm, SC 110
    A weekly discussion group for transgender, gender queer or gender non-conforming students and their allies to discuss topics like navigating MSU, gender identity, expression, transitioning, and friends and family.

     
  • QPoC Group
    5:30pm, SC 110
    A weekly discussion and support group providing students of color with a space to explore their identities and the intersections between race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

FRIDAY
