Transfer Orientation FAQs

Have questions about your Orientation Experience? Let us answer them for you! And if you still have questions, please email us anytime at: orientation@montclair.edu

When Is My Orientation?

We have six Orientations available throughout the Spring and Summer. You can choose based on what works best for you.

Do I Have To Attend Orientation?

Yes. Orientation is designed to aid in your transition to Montclair as well as review unique policies and other essential information.

What If I Require Special Accommodations?

If you have a condition that might affect your participation in Orientation, the Center for Leadership and Engagement will coordinate any arrangements you may need while on campus. You can request this during registration.

I Can't Stay the Whole Time. Can I Leave Early?

Unfortunately, no. Orientation is an important aspect of your college experience and it’s important that you attend in its entirety. This is also true for late arrivals.

What Am I Supposed to Bring?

We recommend a pen and notebook or laptop to take notes. You should also plan on bringing your Degree Audit in case you have questions on your classes.

Do I Register for Classes at Orientation

No. You can register for classes before you get to Orientation. There will, however, be academic advisor available if you have any questions or concerns.

Where Can I Find the Schedule of Activities?

Your Orientation schedule will be available through email two weeks before you come to Orientation. Stay tuned!
