Virtual Opportunities for International Internships and International Engagement

During this difficult time, while you are at home, International Engagement is curating some resources to keep you internationally engaged.

Please check back regularly as we will continue to add new opportunities when we learn of them.

The Office of International Engagement has compiled a list of resources. Some of these programs are not affiliated with or endorsed by Montclair State University. Please use this page as a starting point for your own exploration.

Virtual Internships

For any programs indicating course credit, please first discuss with International Engagement and/or your department.

  • CEA Virtual Internships Abroad Montclair State Affiliated 
    • Placements are arranged in collaboration with existing internship partners across 10 locations throughout Europe, South America, and Australia.
    • The placements will continue to be paired with CEA’s signature academic course, “The Multicultural Workplace”.
    • Each student will have an internship coach and receive guidance from the international internship team before, during, and after the internship.
    • Internship fields include Finance, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, etc.
  • ISA Global Remote InternshipsMontclair State Affiliated
    • Work with a company located in Europe, Australia, or one of several countries in Asia
    • Students are matched to an organization based on their career goals
    • Video Interview may occur after application
    • Academic curriculum ensures that participants stay on track while working remote
  • CRCC Asia Online International Internship Program
    • This program allow students to work 20-30 hours a week for 1- 3 months.
    • Students also get a career coach, 8 hours of online language lessons, weekly group discussions/ business webinars etc.
    • Academic credit is available
  • Puentes Remote Internships 
    • The Puentes Remote Internship program works with Argentine and Uruguayan organizations to provide professional development sessions and optional in-person work experience.
    • Internship opportunities in Tourism, Education, Finance, Journalism etc.
    • There is also a combined virtual and in-person internship where participants travel to Argentina or Uruguay during their winter break.
    • Students are invited to apply for the Pandemic Impact Essay Contest, that includes full funding for a 2020 internship and an in-person internship.
  • iXperience Remote Courses and Internships
    • iXperience courses and internships include: Data Science, Management Consulting, Investment Finance, Product Management, Digital Marketing and Visual Design
  • CIS Abroad Virtual Internships in Argentina and South Africa 
    • Students can work on projects for an international organization from their home base in the U.S. while adding a global perspective to their professional work experience.
    • Fields available are Business, Economics, Marketing, Advertising, PR, Hospitality, NGOs and Non-profit etc.

  • United Planet Internships and Volunteering 
    • Fields in Children and Education, Global Health and Environmental Sustainability
    • Students receive personalized support in project selection, training and project supervision, weekly reflection and cross-cultural training exercises etc.
  • CIEE Study Abroad 
    • CIEE matches students with an 8-week, project based internship based on academics and career goals.
    • Internships are available through a network of companies and host organizations from more than 15 cities around the world.
    • Internship fields available are Business, Communications, IT and Computer Science, Social Media etc.
Virtual International Experiences
  • Cultural Services – French Embassy
    • The staff of the French Cultural Services has curated a list of their top choices for experiencing French and Francophone culture virtually.
    • Watch concerts, visit museums, discover new documentaries, TV shows and more.
International Engagement Virtual Sessions
  •  Study Abroad Information Sessions
    • Any student interested in applying for any study abroad programs must attend an information session.
    • The info session will provide foundational knowledge of the study abroad application process and help guide students in their program search.

    • International Engagement staff is here to help guide you on your study abroad/study away journey!
    • Please note that students must attend a Study Abroad Info Session prior to meeting with an advisor.

  • Fulbright U.S. Student Program Information Sessions
    • Learn how you can receive a grant to Teach English or conduct research abroad after graduation.
    • Students from ALL majors and programs are welcome to apply.
