Newark Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program

The Newark-Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program (NMUTR) is an innovative apprenticeship-based program of study for individuals with a deep commitment to urban teaching. This Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program has two tracks: Early Childhood (P-3) / Elementary (K-5) / Teacher of Students with Disabilities certifications (TSD); and secondary, content area certification in mathematics or a field of science.

The N-MUTR is no longer accepting applications for the P-3/K-5/TSD track. Applications for Secondary, content area certification in mathematics or a field of science are currently being accepted. Final application deadline has been extended until April 1, 2013.  Please visit http://nmutrp.ning.com/page/selection-timeline to review the selection timeline. 

The next secondary school cohort (Mathematics and Science) will run from  June 2013 through June 2014.
