Submission Flow

Faculty & Staff Submissions in Cayuse IRB

Allow 4-6 weeks minimum

1. PI completes & certifies submission on Cayuse IRB
2. IRB office processing
3. Is the submission complete?
   1. Missing attachments?
   2. Missing CITI training?
   3. Application is not clear?
4. Submission sent to an IRB member for review
5. Review performed by Full Board or designated reviewer
6. PI makes changes based on review comments
7. PI submits changes to IRB and review performed until all issues have been resolved
8. Final Review by IRB Chair
9. Final approval and receipt of approval letter via email

Student-Led Research Studies in Cayuse IRB

Allow 4-6 weeks minimum

1. Student researcher requests IRB account
2. Student completes application as the Primary Contact. Sends to faculty PI for certification.
3. Faculty PI certifies submission & it is transferred to IRB staff
4. IRB office processing
5. Is the submission complete?
   1. Missing attachments?
   2. Missing CITI training?
   3. Application is not clear?
6. Submission sent to an IRB member for review
7. Review performed by Full Board or designated reviewer
8. Student makes changes based on review comments
9. Researchers submit changes to IRB and review performed until all issues have been resolved
10. Final Review by IRB Chair
11. Final approval and receipt of approval letter via email
