Montclair State University will be hosting the 2012 North Jersey Band Festival on Sunday, October 28 (rain date: Sunday, November 4) at Sprague Field from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Bands from 18 North Jersey high schools will be competing at the event so the University will be taking the following steps in order to accommodate our guests and their vehicles:
- Beginning Sunday, October 28, at 6:00 a.m., Parking Lots 7, 30, 31 and 42 will be closed. No vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit the parking lots. The lots will be reopened around 10:00 p.m.
- Beginning Sunday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m., Weekend Route A shuttle bus service to University Hall will be temporarily halted. Service to all other stops will continue but expect delays. Regular shuttle service including service to University Hall will be restored at 9:30 p.m.
- Beginning Sunday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m., NJ Transit buses will not enter the campus at College Avenue but will pick up and drop off passengers at a temporary stop on Normal Avenue.
- Beginning Sunday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m., Carlisle Road from the traffic light south to College Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Carlisle Road from College Avenue south to Normal Avenue will be used as an exit only. No vehicles will be permitted to enter Carlisle Road from Normal Avenue. Drivers needing to access the northern end of campus may do so via the Clove Road entrance. Carlisle Road will reopen after the event is over.
University Police officers will be on hand to direct traffic on campus.
