Gifted/Talented programs include archaeology, rocketry

Students in first through third grades will learn that Kids are "Konsumers" Too and investigate Way Out Math. Students in grades four through six will thrill to Rocketry and Science and receive an Introduction to Veterinary Medicine. Students in grades seven and eight will Journey through the Universe and study Photography while students in grades nine through 11 will drill on Math Skills for the SAT and get a head start on College Composition.

That's just a sampling of the feast of more than 60 courses awaiting students in the fall session of Montclair State University's Academically Gifted/Talented Youth Programs. Along with the courses described above, students in grades one to 11 can choose from physics, math, algebra, biology, astronomy, geometry, martial arts, theatre, photography, creative writing, languages and computers.

Entering its 19th year of enhancing educational opportunities for academically gifted youngsters, the Program's fall semester begins Oct. 2 and 3 and continues through Dec. 11 and 12. All courses are offered on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise specified.
