The new season at Peak Performances opens with a glacier, a commissioned world premiere dance work from New York-based choreographer Liz Gerring. Read more about Liz Gerring and her work process as she discusses glacier (and more) with Nancy Dalva in the Sept. 4th edition of The Brooklyn Rail.
Montclair State University students, faculty, and staff will have a chance to chat about Liz Gerring (and modern dance) with Nancy Dalva in person this Thursday, September 19th, at 6:00p.m. in the Alexander Kasser Theater Upper Lobby. Ms. Dalva, the scholar-in-residence at the Merce Cunningham Trust, will lead a conversation on navigating through a new work of nonnarrative dance. Dalva will share insights into Liz Gerring’s athletic and intricate choreography and the relationship between the movement and the environmental soundscape by longtime Gerring collaborator Michael J. Schumacher.
Sneak Peeks is a yearlong series of informal pre-show chats with artists and writers, presented by the Office of Arts & Cultural Programming. Join us on select Thursday nights throughout the 13/14 season for pizza, snacks, and inside knowledge into the performance you are about to see!
