Montclair State University Health Promotion kicked off the semester with an outdoor yoga class as part of its “weekly workshops,” which include body image workshops, mindfulness meditation and other stress-relieving activities for students such as painting, arts and crafts, pet therapy, writing and dancing.

Senior Chana Hurwitz said the yoga class, “really helps me relax.” For many Montclair State students like Hurwitz, the class provides relaxation to ease the stress of the semester.

Ariel Flood, a graduate student, instructs the class, which, she said, is all about “taking time to find a little peace in your life.” Flood and other instructors will continue to help students “find a little peace,” every Wednesday this semester from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
