Red Hawks Claim Top Seed in Conference Tournament

The Montclair State University field hockey team downed Kean University 5-0 on Wednesday to claim their second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference regular-season crown.

Ranked No. 1 in the nation in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, the Red Hawks (17-1) also claimed the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament which begins on November 6. Montclair State, the defending league champion, will host a semifinal contest against an opponent yet to be determined.

The Red Hawks will return to action at Sprague Field on Saturday, November 2, at 1:00 p.m., for the final regular season game against Gwynedd-Mercy College.
