Women’s Basketball Closes out Regular Season with NJAC Title

The Montclair State University women’s basketball team finished the regular season with a 63-49 victory over The College of New Jersey on February 20. The Red Hawks ended the season with a 23-2 overall record (17-1 in-conference) and the NJAC regular-season title.

Ranked eighth in the nation on the D3Hoops.com Top25 Poll and ninth on the USA Today/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Poll, the Red Hawks matched a program record for conference victories in a season set during the 1989-90 campaign when the Red Hawks also went 17-1. Montclair State, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament, is 33-1 in league play the last two seasons as it went unbeaten (16-0) in 2013.

The Red Hawks are now off until Tuesday, February 25, when they host an NJAC Tournament semifinal at the Panzer Athletic Center at 7:00 p.m.
