At the 17 minute mark, Montclair States fired off shots from Natalia Sisti (Lincoln Park, NJ / DePaul) and Jen Kelleher (Englishtown, NJ / Old Bridge) but Skidmore's Ellie Shorey saved both to preserve the 0-0 tie at the half.
In the second half, Skidmore needed a little over 14 minutes to get on the board as Abby Benton knocked in the game's first goal unassisted. The Thoroughbreds added another score just over three minutes later as Lindsay Schmitt picked up her first goal of the season.
Montclair had several scoring chances in the waning minutes, but Megan Sleezer picked up four saves for Skidmore and the Thoroughbreds picked up their fourth-straight win in 2008.
Sleezer and Shorey split time in goal picking up four and three saves, respectively.
