Montclair, NJ (9/21/08) – Freshman kick returner Byron Lewin (Carteret, NJ / Carteret)
was named the NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday. Lewin
becomes the second straight Red Hawks to earn the honor from the league.
Lewin played
a key role in the Red Hawks’ NJAC-opening 12-7 road win at Morrisville
State. In the contest, he collected 110 return yards on just two
kickoffs including a 29-yard effort on his first collegiate return and
a 68-yard return on a free kick following a Montclair safety which set
up the only Red Hawk touchdown of the game.

is a key contributor to a MSU kick return unit that currently leads the
NJAC in team kickoff returns with an average of 32.0 per attempt.
