Ericson Named NJAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Montclair, NJ (11/17/08) – Freshman guard Jaime Ericson (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week as the league announced it first awards of the season on Monday.

Ericson earns the first NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week honor after averaging 7.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week of play for the Red Hawks during the DeSales Tip-Off Tournament.

She opened her collegiate career with five points and six rebounds in MSU’s season-opening 65-54 loss to Scranton. She wrapped up the tournament by posting a nine points along with two steals for the Red Hawks’ first win of the season, a 59-48 consolation game victory over Immaculata.

Ericson currently ranks tied for fourth in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.333).
