Ericson Named NJAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for Second Time

Montclair, NJ (12/1/08) – Freshman guard Jaime Ericson (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks on Monday.

Ericson earns NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after averaging 17.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting .560 from the field in
three contests during the week for the Red Hawks.

She opened the week by netting 19 points on 7- of-10 shooting from the field, while adding six rebounds in only 17 minutes of action during a 68-65 non-conference road loss at Manhattanville. Four days later, she notched a career-high 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while adding seven rebounds and two steals in an 83-79 overtime loss to Stevens. She wrapped up the week by tallying 10 points, five rebounds, and two steals in a 73-69 overtime loss to Colby.

Ericson, who leads the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game, currently ranks third in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.500).
