Riddick Named NJAC Indoor Track Female Field Athlete of the Week for Third Time

Montclair, NJ (2/17/09) – Sophomore Monique Riddick (Edison, NJ / Bishop Ahr) claimed her third NJAC Indoor Female Field Athelte of the Week honor on Tuesday. It is the sixth time in two seasons that Riddick has captured the conference's weekly accolade.

Riddick earned NJAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season after traveling to Middletown, CT to compete at the Collegiate Track & Field Championship contested at Wesleyan University.

She placed first in a field of 24 competitors in the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying throw of 14.04 meters. The defending national champion in the indoor shot put, Riddick’s throw marked the second best in NCAA Division III this season. Her performance helped propel the Red Hawks to a ninth place team finish in the 19-team championship.
