Montclair State University held its 2009 Commencement exercises on Friday, May 22, at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ, conferring 3,619 degrees in science and mathematics, humanities and the social sciences, business, the arts, and education.
The Commencement address was delivered by Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker who received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Also honored at the ceremony was businessman and philanthropist John J. Cali who received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.
