Montclair, NJ (5/21/09) – Senior goalkeeper Thomas Bowers (Hamburg, NJ / Pope John XXIII) has made plenty of firsts in his four years at Montclair State. On Thursday, Bowers added another as he became the first MSU men's lacrosse player to garner All-American honors as he was named to the USILA Division III Team.
Bower, who was recently the third MSU player to be named to the USILA's Division III North / South All-Start Game, was named Honorable Mention.
Bowers, one of the top players in MSU lacrosse history, was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season as he led Montclair State to its first Skyline Conference championship and the program's first berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

in the league in both goals against average (8.22) and save percentage
(.585) this season . Ranked in the Top 10 all-time in saves in Division
III, Bowers is ranked 26th in Division III in save percentage and 35th
in goals against average.
Bowers is the holder of every MSU goalkeeping records, including saves (851) and wins (42). He also ranks second in career goals against average at 8.79 per game.
