Colorado Springs, CO (9/11/09) – For the second straight game, seniors Joseph Cullen (Clementon, NJ / Highland Regional) and Michael Cullen (Clementon, NJ, Highland Regional) accounted for both Montclair State goals as the No. 7 Red Hawks opened up its Colorado trip on the right foot with a 2-0 victory over Whitman College at Colorado College on Friday.
Sophomore Mike Pytlar (Califon, NJ / West Morris) had an assist as MSU improved to 4-0 while extending its consecutive regular-season winning streak to 22 games.
Like the Muhlenberg contest on September 5, a 2-1 Montclair win, the twin brothers provided all of the scoring. This time it was Joe Cullen getting the first goal of the contest as he finished off a pass from Michael four minutes into the contest.
That's the way the game stood until the final five minutes when Michael Cullen collected his third goal of the season off an assist from Pytlar.
Senior goalkeeper Teddy Ritter (Belford, NJ / Middletown North) made four saves as he recorded his second shutout of the season.
The Red Hawks close out their trip on Sunday, September 13 as they face Colorado College at 1:00 pm EDT.
