A new minor in Nutrition and Food Science will provide students from various disciplines knowledge and application opportunities in the area of nutrition and food science. The study of food and nutrition complements a variety of interests and areas of study including health education, business, pre-med, counseling, home economics education, marketing, physical education, allied health services, and community health.
There is a growing recognition in higher education of the value of interdisciplinary study. A minor in Nutrition and Food Science clearly facilitates movement along these lines. The selected courses for the minor will assist students in developing an understanding of the relationships among food, diet and wellness.
