Volleyball Chosen Fourth in NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Montclair, NJ (8/19/10) – The Montclair State volleyball team was picked fourth as the New Jersey Athletic Conference released its 2010 Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday. The Red Hawks were picked behind Richard Stockton, Ramapo and Rowan, respectively.

Last season, Montclair won the NJAC regular-season championship as it went unbeaten in league play for the first time in its history (8-0). MSU knocked off William Paterson in the semifinals of the NJAC Tournament before falling to Richard Stockton in the championship match. Montclair was seeking its second conference crown in three years.

Montclair State opens up its 2010 campaign on Wednesday, September 1 as they host New Paltz at the Panzer Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 pm. The Red Hawks then travel to Cortland, NY for the Red Dragon Classic on September 3-4 before coming back home on September 10-11 to host its own tournament, the MSU Classic.

MSU's first NJAC contest will be on Friday, September 17 at Kean University.
