"The Montclarion" Wins Journalism Awards

The Montclarion was honored with three awards in the 2009-2010 New Jersey College Newspaper Contest, which recognizes the achievements of staff members at New Jersey college newspapers.

This is the second year in a row that The Montclarion has been so honored. The contest attracted 315 entries from 13 college newspapers around the state. The Montclarion earned awards in the following categories:

Arts & Entertainment/Critical Writing
First place—Emily Golloub, former Montclarion Arts & Entertainment Editor

Column/Opinion Writing
Second place—Catherine Winters, Montclarion Copy Editor and Columnist

General Excellence
Second place—The Montclarion staff

Kristie Cattafi, who has since graduated, was the editor-in-chief during the competition period.
