Montclair, NJ (11/29/10) - Junior forward Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) collected his second accolade of the season as he was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday. August was selected to the Doc Greene Invitational All-Tournament Team at Juniata College on November 20.
August was named NJAC Player of the Week after averaging 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting .667 from the field in a pair of victories for the Red Hawks. He opened the week by tallying 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while adding five rebounds and three assists in a 65-49 victory over Berkeley. Four days later, he notched a double-double 21 points and 12 rebounds, along with three assists and two blocks in an 89-74 non-conference road victory at Centenary for MSU’s third consecutive win. August currently ranks tied for third in the NJAC in scoring with an average of 18.3 points per game.
