"The Fire This Time" A Discussion With The Editors

Do we need a gender-centric movement?
What are the drawbacks?
Why is concentration on gender important?
What are the possibilities beyond gender-centricity?
How do unordinary enactments of feminism force us to re-invent the boundaries of movement?

On Monday, Nov. 22, 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Cohen Lounge, Dawn Lundy Martin and Vivien Labaton will discuss Third Wave Feminism in their talk entitled "The Fire This Time: Young Activists and the New Feminism."

The editors will discuss these questions in both general terms and from their experiences working on social justice issues that are not usually examined from a traditional feminist perspective.

The event is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the Women's Studies Program, the Department of Sociology, and the Visiting Writers Program of the English Department.
