Montclair, NJ (10/23/11) – Senior safety Chad Faulcon (Cranford, NJ / Cranford) was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday. He became the first Red Hawk to win that award this season and the sixth different MSU player to be honored by the conference this year.
Faulcon earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week
honors after producing the third most tackles
in a game by any NJAC player this season during No. 7 MSU’s
27-21 NJAC road defeat at TCNJ. He collected 15 total tackles,
including 11 solo stops and 1.5 tackles for a loss. He also keyed a
Red Hawk defense which limited the host Lions to just 258 yards of
total offense in the contest.
Faulcon currently ranks tied for third in the NJAC in total interceptions (3).
