Montclair, NJ (10/25/11) - Sophomore Marta Topor (Bogota, NJ / Bogota) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday. Topor is the second Red Hawk to earn weekly honors from the league this season.
Topor earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 3.50 kills and 4.50 digs per set during a 2-1 week of play for Montclair State. She opened the week with a double-double 13 kills and 21 digs, along with four service aces in a 3-1 NJAC road win at William Paterson which clinched an NJAC Tournament berth for MSU. Two days later, she tallied a double-double 15 kills and 23 digs, along with four service aces in a 3-1 non-conference win over St. Elizabeth. She wrapped up the week with her third consecutive double-double which included 14 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 non-conference defeat to Hunter.
Topor is averaging 2.42 kills per set in 16 matches played for the Red Hawks on the season.
