Feliciano Students Gain Industry Insights in Exclusive BNY Visit

Posted in: Information Management and Business Analytics

Recently, a group of students, faculty and staff from the Feliciano School of Business and Computer Science and Math had the unique opportunity to visit BNY, where they connected with distinguished alumni and industry panelists. The visit offered an in-depth look into the operations and culture at BNY, one of the world’s leading investment management and financial services firms.

During the event, students engaged in panel discussions led by alumni and executives from diverse areas within the company, including wealth management, corporate finance, and technology. The panelists shared valuable insights on their career journeys, challenges faced in the financial industry, and emerging trends reshaping the market. They also offered practical advice on how to navigate early career stages, develop critical skills, and make impactful contributions within a corporate setting.

After the panel discussions, students participated in breakout sessions, where they had the chance to ask questions and network more personally with the panelists. These sessions encouraged open dialogue and allowed students to gain targeted career guidance and explore potential career paths within the financial services industry.

The visit was an enriching experience, bridging classroom learning with real-world exposure and providing students with a clearer understanding of how they can contribute meaningfully to the field. Thanks to the BNY and our Montclair alumni professionals, students left feeling inspired and better prepared to embark on their own professional journeys.

We greatly appreciate our Montclair State University alumni who joined this event: Huron Benson, Munibah Ashraf, Ming Tran, Gregg Blevins, and Michelle Cattone. Our special thanks to Heather Easter for coordinating this event with BNY!
