CAEP Accreditation
The College of Education and Engaged Learning at Montclair State University received notice of re-accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in November 2021. This renews the accreditation status of all initial-level and advanced-level programs from 2021 through 2027.
The College for Education and Engaged Learning also received CAEP’s Fred Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement Award. The College will undergo the next CAEP review cycle in Spring 2027.

Initial Teacher Certification Programs Accredited by CAEP
The following teacher certifications are offered with the associated degree or post-degree credential:
- Visual Arts: Bachelors, Master of Arts in Teaching, Dual Bachelor/Master of Arts in Teaching degree, or a Post Baccalaureate Certification
- Biological Science: Bachelors, Master of Arts in Teaching, Dual Bachelor/Master of Arts in Teaching degree, or a Post Baccalaureate Certification
- Chemistry: Bachelors, Master of Arts in Teaching, Dual Bachelor/Master of Arts in Teaching degree, or a Post Baccalaureate Certification
