We are pleased to announce that Mary Guenther has been awarded The Palestroni Feeding, Swallowing and Craniofacial Clinical Assistantship for 2011-2012 at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, in Paterson, New Jersey.
The purpose of this assistantship is to expose a graduate student in speech pathology to the business, research, team and clinical aspects of craniofacial, feeding and swallowing disorders. The successful candidate will participate in swallow studies, FEES, VPI endoscopy and fluoroscopy, nasometry, clinical adult swallow inpatient and outpatient evaluations, LSVT, PAS, pediatric feeding and swallowing team evaluations and therapy, craniofacial rounds, participate in preparation of research and applying academic experiences in observation of craniofacial surgery, swallow and craniofacial courses taught at the medical center and our didactic head and neck cadaver course.
This will be an invaluable learning experience for Mary and it is quite an honor.
