The Department of Earth and Environmental Studies launched the inaugural version of EAES404 Field Geology during Summer 2014. Sixteen undergraduates completed the 6-week, field-intensive course, which was team designed and taught by Drs. Matthew Gorring, Gregory Pope, Joshua Galster, and Tanya Blacic. The course venues included two weeks at MSU’s New Jersey School of Conservation (NJSOC) followed by one month in various locations in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and Montana.

EAES404 has been the toast of the department and campus. For more information please see the beautifully illustrated article in Montclair Magazine by BS in Geoscience student Masha Guzner (photographs by Mike Peters and Bradly J. Boner), and an article by Dr. Gorring in the Fall 2014 CSAM Newsletter.
