Environmental Science and Management PhD candidate, Odera Umeh, under the advisement of Dr. Duke Ophori, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2025 Land Conservancy of New Jersey (TLCNJ) scholarship, recognizing his exceptional academic achievements, commitment to protecting our water resources, aquatic species preservation, and environmental stewardship. The scholar was chosen from a competitive pool of applicants for his outstanding work in addressing critical environmental challenges in New Jersey and beyond. His research focuses on tackling per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) crises in New Jersey’s drinking water systems and aquatic species.
