Lecture on Seamus Heaney Sponsored by the Marie Frazee Baldassarre Professorship

Geraldine Higgins and Seamus Heaney

Geraldine Higgins, a native of Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, and a professor in the English Department at Emory University, will speak on “Exhibiting Seamus Heaney.” Professor Higgins, a distinguished scholar of Irish writing, curated the Seamus Heaney exhibition now on display in Dublin. She is the author of Heroic Revivals from Carlyle to Yeats and Brian Friel and many articles, among them “The Quotable Yeats: Modified in the guts of the living” and “Tara, the O’Haras and the Irish Gone with the Wind.”
