Professor Art Simon, a film studies scholar and professor in the Department of English, has two notable new publications that deal with Jews and the history of American film.

The first is an article published in the journal American Jewish History: “Broadcasting Jewish Americanism: The American Jewish Committee and Live Television in the 1950s” (vol. 105 no. 4, 2021, p. 535-561. Project MUSE, doi:10.1353/ajh.2021.0064).

The second is a short essay on the 1945 Mervyn LeRoy documentary about antisemitism and racial prejudice, “The House I Live In,” starring Frank Sinatra, which has been published on the website of the Library of Congress on its page devoted to The National Film Registry.
