Author Jacob M. Appel Coming to Montclair State

Noted author Jacob M. Appel will be appearing on campus 8:30-9:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, SBUS 314, for a fiction reading, followed by a Q&A session. Appel’s first novel, The Man Who Wouldn’t Stand Up, won the 2012 Dundee International Book Award. His short story collection, Scouting for the Reaper, won the 2012 Hudson Prize. His short fiction has appeared in more than two hundred literary journals and won numerous honors, including the Boston Review Short Fiction Competition and the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Award for the Short Story. His stories have been short-listed for the O. Henry Award and Best American Short Stories, among other places. This event is open to both the university and the community.
