No. 1/5 Women’s Soccer Advances to NJAC Title Game with Win

Red Hawks down Richard Stockton, will face TCNJ for conference crown, NCAA automatic bid

No. 1/5 and top-seeded Montclair State University blanked fourth-seeded Richard Stockton College 2-0 in the semifinals of the NJAC Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament at Montclair State University Soccer Park on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore Martina Landeka and junior Kaila Fasano scored on either side of the halftime break as Montclair State, ranked first by and fifth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, improved to 18-0 on the season.

The Red Hawks, the defending conference champions, will face No. 9/23 and third-seeded The College of New Jersey Lions on Friday, November 8, at Montclair State Soccer Park beginning at 7:00 p.m. The winner of the game on Friday receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament which gets underway next week.
