Red Bull New York Professional Soccer Team to Train at MSU
Team to Fully Fund Renovations of Dioguardi Field and Field House

Montclair State University and the professional soccer team Red Bull New York have announced an agreement that will allow the team to train at MSU for the upcoming 2007 season in return for its renovation of the University’s Dioguardi Field and field house.

Red Bull New York will start renovating Dioguardi Field by replacing the grass, installing an irrigation and drainage system and fencing, and relocating track runners from their current location to the end of the field. In addition, the organization will renovate the nearby field house, constructing a locker room, equipment room, training room, weight room, meeting room, player’s lounge, shower and bathroom facilities, and coaches’ offices.

"We are very pleased to host the Red Bulls at MSU during the next year," said Karen L. Pennington, vice president for Student Development and Campus Life. "This partnership will be of great advantage to both our students and the University community by providing positive professional athletic role models as well as the opportunity for our soccer players to spend time with professional players who can help them gain additional skills. This activity, coupled with the enhancement of our field and field house is representative of the positive relationship that can be gained by public and private entities working together to achieve a common good."

The Red Bulls' agreement with MSU is for one year with an option for a second year.
