Tepperman, Senyszyn Earn NJAC Women's Soccer Weekly Accolades

Montclair, NJ (9/28/08)– Junior goalkeeper Leah Tepperman (North Andover, MA / North Andover) and freshman forward Rachel Senyszyn (Succasunna, NJ / Roxbury) were both lauded by the New Jersey Athletic Conference on Monday as the duo were named the Defensive and Rookie of the Week.

Tepperman earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after propelling the Red Hawks to three victories during the week. She first collected three saves in 90 minutes of scoreless action during MSU’s 1-0 NJAC shutout of Rutgers-Newark. Three days later, she notched five saves in 90 minutes of scoreless play as the Red Hawk’s snapped TCNJ’s 38-match NJAC unbeaten streak with a 1-0 road win. She wrapped up the week by notching six saves while surrendering just one goal in a 2-1 non-conference road victory at Catholic. Tepperman currently is tied for the conference lead in total saves with 56 on the season.

Senyszyn earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after tallying four points in the three games. She opened the week by registering the game-winning goal in MSU’s 1-0 NJAC victory over Rutgers-Newark. Three days later, she netted her second consecutive game-winner as the Red Hawks defeated TCNJ. Senyszyn currently ranks tied for seventh in the NJAC in goals scored with six on the season.
