Softball's Hill Wins Fifth NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week Honor

Montclair, NJ (4/25/11) – For the fourth consecutive week and fifth time this season, Montclair State freshman Alex Hill (Parsippany, NJ / Parsippany Hills) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Hill earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors for the fifth time this season and the fourth consecutive week after going 3-0 with a pair of no-hitters while posting a 0.00 earned run average in three NJAC wins for MSU. She opened the week by tossing her second career no-hitter, including seven strikeouts in a 9-0 win over defending champion Kean. One day later, she recorded the eighth perfect game in program history, and the first MSU seven-inning perfect game since 1990 during a 4-0 NJAC win over Rutgers-Camden. She wrapped up the week by surrendering just two hits and one walk in five innings of work during MSU’s 11-0 game two win over Camden.

Hill, who also batted .667 (6-for-9) with two doubles, one home run, and 10 RBI in the three games combined, currently leads the NJAC in earned run average (0.75), strikeouts (130), and victories (15).
