"Pray the Devil Back to Hell" Screening and Panel Discussion (A Collaboration between Montclair International Film Festival and Montclair State)

The Montclair International Film Festival, in cooperation with Montclair State University, NJTV and BlueWaveNJ, will present a special screening of “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” on Monday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Kasser Theater. Following the screening there will be a panel discussion with filmmakers, Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker, and Montclair State Professor Esperanza Brizuela-Garcia, moderated by Mary Alice Williams.

“Pray the Devil Back to Hell” is the astonishing story of the Liberian women who took on the warlords and regime of dictator Charles Taylor in the midst of a brutal civil war and won a once unimaginable peace for their shattered country in 2003. Among the women featured is Leymah Gbowee, the leader of the Liberian women’s peace movement.

This special screening is part of the “Women, War and Peace” series that will air in October on PBS. Tickets are free for Montclair State University students, faculty and staff. A valid Montclair State ID must be presented at the door. For all others, tickets are $20 and may be obtained in advance at http://montclairnjfilmfestival.org/events/.
