Accounting (Combined BS/MS)

This 5-year degree program combines our BS and MS in Accounting programs. Our Accounting program, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), helps students develop strong, comprehensive functional and technical skills as well as a specialized, in-depth understanding of the complexities of current accounting, auditing and tax practice.

Accountants who want to maximize their career potential often become Certified Public Accountants (CPA). The CPA license is highly regarded in the accounting and finance industries. Having this credential can significantly enhance your career prospects and open up opportunities for advancement within your organization or when seeking new job opportunities. Some accounting roles, by law, require a CPA, and as a result, CPAs are paid better and have more options than their non-CPA accounting peers.

Graduates of the Combined BS/MS program are eligible to sit for the CPA exam however, the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy requires a total of 150 credit hours to obtain CPA licensure in New Jersey. Because the combined degree consists of 144 credit hours, students completing the combined degree must take an additional 6 credits of coursework to be eligible for licensure.

Talk to your advisor about options for obtaining the additional 6 credits.
