The MA in Counseling program was first accredited in 2009 in all program areas and in 2017 the MA programs in Addictions Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling received continuing accreditation for the full 8 year cycle. The counseling programs are currently under review for accreditation for the next cycle and are scheduled to host a site visit during the 2025–2026 academic year. During the most recent reporting period, the master’s-level counseling programs enrolled a total of 364 students across Addiction Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling, with 123 students graduating during the same period. The Addiction Counseling program enrolled 26 students and graduated 10 students. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program enrolled 192 students and graduated 47 students. The School Counseling program enrolled 146 students and graduated 66 students. The program completion rate for all students was approximately 90-100% for the 6-year timeframe allocated by the university (Addiction Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling). Licensure examination outcomes for graduates across programs were reported in the 91–100% pass rate category. Combined employment and doctoral admission outcomes for graduates actively seeking placement were likewise reported in the 91–100% range across programs.
The Ph.D. in Counseling program began in 2009 and received full accreditation in 2017. The program is also under review for continuing accreditation in the upcoming cycle and will be included in the scheduled 2025–2026 site visit. During the most recent reporting period, the doctoral program enrolled 43 students and graduated 7 students. The program completion rate for all PhD students is approximately 60% for the 6-year timeframe allocated by the university. Of the graduates who responded to the survey, 100% reported they found employment in counselor education and counseling practice positions.
