The Judicial Branch deals with all matters of fairness, constitutionality and criminality regarding the Student Government Association. This branch consists of the Chief Justice, Associate Justices and the Student Advocate. The Judicial Branch reviews all bills passed in the Legislature of the SGA. It also conducts judicial reviews regarding scenarios in which legitimacy is questioned and holds hearings on matters of criminality if they should arise. Overall, it is the aim of the Justice Branch to maintain a system of checks and balances within the SGA and to promote students’ rights and fairness at Montclair State University.
