Meet the Staff

Barbara Ackerson, RN-BC, FN-CSA

Registered Nurse with dual certification in College Health and as a Forensic Nurse; she is certified to conduct Sexual Assault Examinations.  Barbara has been employed at Montclair State University since 2002 and has been an active member of the Sexual Assault Response Team since 2003.

Barbara is proud to have been chosen as a recipient of the Ruth Reagan Hutchison Award for Excellence in College Health.  She is active in the NJ College Health Association where she currently serves as the Vice President.


Clara Albert, MSN, APN

Clara Albert is a certified Advanced Practice Nurse with a focus on Adult Health.  Prior to working at Montclair State, she worked at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark Department of Health, and the Newark Community Health Center.

Janele Coppola MSN, APN
Janele is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with prior experience and training in internal medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, school nursing, and cardiac surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, as well as the New Jersey College Health Association.

Victoria Eftychiou, MSN, APN

Victoria is a certified Advanced Practice Nurse with 35 years experience working in the medical field and over 22 years in clinical practice providing health care to college students. Victoria has diverse clinical experience in adult primary care and women’s health care.  Areas of interest include health promotion and disease prevention, nutrition and weight management, and women’s health care.

Sarah Jennings MS, APN, M.Ed.
Sarah is a Family Nurse Practitioner with experience working in sexual health, adolescent medicine, and primary care. A former public school teacher, Sarah has a particular interest in patient education and shared decision making. She is certified with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American College Health Association. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, traveling and going hiking and camping with her husband, children and their dog.

Casey Keegan, DNP, APN
Casey received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with a focus on Family health. Prior to working at Montclair State, Casey worked at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey as well as in a private OB/GYN practice. Casey has a special interest in Women’s healthcare as showcased by her work experience. When she is not at the University Health Center, she enjoys working out, completing DIY projects at home, and spending time with her two pups.

Sharon O’Donnell
Immunization Coordinator/Medical Receptionist

Sharon is responsible for verifying that all students are compliant with NJ State immunization requirements. Additionally, she facilitates the students’ understanding of the document submission process into the Health Center’s web portal so that students can be compliant and not experience course registration interruptions. Sharon also assists with scheduling student appointments and is responsible for all aspects of purchasing for the Student Health Center. Prior to joining the Montclair State UHC family, Sharon held positions in office administration for various advertising and media companies.


Arlin Ramirez-Anderson
Credentialing Coordinator/Medical Receptionist

Arlin is responsible for coordinating and submitting the insurance bills associated with the student health insurance plan. In addition to this, she coordinates the credentialing of all of the professional staff at the Student Health Center. Arlin’s other responsibilities include assisting students who come to the Student Health Center, scheduling appointments, and general day-to-day administrative operations.

Alexis Sell, MSN, APN

Alexis an Adult-Gerontology Advanced Practice Nurse with experience and training in ambulatory surgery, long term care, college health, private practice, school nursing, and wound care. She is a member of the International Honors Society for Nurses and the New Jersey College Health Association.
