Nutritional and Dietary Considerations

We proudly offer a dedicated team of dietitians committed to enhancing your on-campus culinary experience and overall health and well-being.

The Nourish team provides comprehensive support for students in managing dietary preferences, restrictions, and any food-related concerns that may arise during your time on campus. They engage in a wide range of personalized services and programs with students, from creating specialized meal plans that accommodate food sensitivities and dietary considerations, to hosting fun group events and presenting nutrition education programs and training.

Addressing Special Dietary Considerations

Medically-Necessary Dietary Restrictions

Our dietitians and executive chef can tailor meal plans to specific requirements as needed; this process starts by contacting the Disability Resource Center and requesting reasonable accommodations. Your request will be reviewed by the Disability Resource Center in coordination with the Dining Services team.

Lifestyle and Religious Dietary Considerations

Most lifestyle and religious dietary considerations such as vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, halal and kosher diets can be accommodated on campus.

Student Food Insecurity

A study conducted by the University’s Campus Hunger Free Task Force found that 41.4% of Montclair State University students surveyed between 2018-2022 had low to very low food security. Commuter students fared significantly worse than campus residents on a number of dimensions related to food insecurity. We offer a number of programs and initiatives to ensure the campus community has access to food resources.
