Thriving After Trauma

Please note that Thriving After Trauma is currently not being offered this semester.

Have you had a traumatic experience that is difficult to talk to others about and is affecting your relationships? This support group is for women with a history of physical or sexual trauma and will focus on using both talk therapy and trauma-informed yoga as a means of healing.

The group is for female Montclair State students (approximately six to ten women) who would like to get support from other women in a safe environment. The group is facilitated by two CAPS therapists (Lisa Westreich and Charisma Jackson) who provide education about the effects of trauma and work with the group members using the mind/body connection to develop effective coping mechanisms.

Before attending the group you will be asked first to have a 20-30 minute individual meeting with the group facilitators to get more information about the group.

If you are interested in participating, complete the Thriving After Trauma Interest Form or if you have any questions, please contact Lisa Westreich, LCSW at westreichl@montclair.edu or Charisma Jackson, LCSW at jacksoncha@montclair.edu.
