Sarah R. Lowe, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, was interviewed for two recent media articles on trauma and mental health: “For Katrina survivors, Harvey could take an even bigger toll” by E. A. Crunden of ThinkProgress and “Immigrant protections have halved kids’ mental health problems” by Mallory Locklear of New Scientist.

Lowe is a clinical psychologist who teaches in the graduate child clinical psychology program. Lowe’s area of research is on the long-term psychological consequences of traumatic events, including natural and human-made disasters, community and interpersonal violence, and childhood abuse and neglect.
