Even if you can’t make it to the library in person, you can access the Sprague Library’s resources, as well as get one-on-one help from librarians! You can book an online research appointment with a librarian from home. Virtual librarian appointments utilize a screensharing technology called Zoom. You can also use the Ask a Librarian service to chat via email or phone with a librarian who is ready to answer any questions you may have, or check out the FAQ and guidelines laid out on the page itself.

Our Library Research Guides put together the databases that librarians recommend for each subject or class. You can also find the full list of Databases the library subscribes to on the right under Databases A-Z. Find pointers on how to start or inspiration on how to keep going with your research here!

Finally, if you’re taking an online course at Montclair but live closer to another institution’s library, you may be able to use the VALE reciprocal borrowing service (depending on the institution’s VALE status) to borrow materials. A list of participating VALE libraries is available at the Access Services Desk and on the VALE website, which you can visit for more information.
