Are you new to Montclair State and the Sprague Library? Don’t let all the shelves and databases overwhelm you! Take advantage of the valuable resources available to all students.

Need A Book? Search our Catalog

Some of your classes will require books throughout the semester. Check our library catalog first! We don’t collect every textbook, but we just might have the novel you’re reading available to you for free. If you need it for more than one month, you get two renewals per item, no questions asked.

A Study Space for Everyone

Need some alone time to study? There are quiet study spaces on all floors of the library. We also provide group study rooms so you and your classmates will have a convenient meeting place to discuss and work on group projects.

Ask a Librarian Anything from Anywhere!

Your first research assignment can be intimidating, but our librarians are here to help! The Ask a Librarian service lets you chat via email or phone with a librarian who is ready to answer any questions you may have. If you’re at the library in person, the Reference Desk is available on the first floor if you have a question. You can also set up a research appointment to discuss your research project face-to-face with a professional. Get pointers on how to start or tips on how to keep going!

Printing, Copying, Scanning

Don’t forget, you can print in the library, use a black and white (10 cents) or color copier (50 cents) and scan (free).

Drop by for a Workshop

Still have questions? Be sure to check out our drop-in workshops all throughout the semester.
