Alumni Discoveries at Homecoming

Three people at Library homecoming table

The University Libraries participation at Montclair State University Homecoming 2023 was a resounding success! There was a great turnout of alumni approaching the University Libraries table for information on services for alumni as well as how to sign up for our newsletter to receive our latest news and updates. Additionally, our booth featured an array of photographs showcasing the history of Sprague Library as well as old yearbooks for students and alumni to peruse.

While Associate Dean Natalie Beach, Archivist Paul Martinez, and library student employee Joely DeMonte ‘24, conversed with attendees, one heartwarming moment stood out. Alumni Kurt Epps ‘69 and Kacy Epps ‘13 discovered a 1969 yearbook on display. They perused the yearbook and pointed out a few pictures of Kurt including his senior year picture as well as one of his participation in the Inter-Fraternity Council. A fun photo was taken of Kacy mirroring his father in his younger years, revealing an uncanny resemblance between the two.

If you are an alumnus and want to view your yearbook or would like to read editions of The Montclairion from your time at Montclair, check out our online archives. Need assistance finding something in our archives? Feel free to contact Paul Martinez at martinezp@montclair.edu.
